How to Handle Rate Limits When Using the Shiphero API?

Hello

I am just getting started with the Shiphero API and I’m running into issues with rate limits when pulling large amounts of data. :slightly_smiling_face: Sometimes the requests fail or return partial results, and I’m not sure what the best practice is to make sure the data sync is reliable without breaking limits. Has anyone set up a smart way to handle this?

While I was troubleshooting, I came across a lot of AI-related tools and guides, and one example even explained how to use ChatGPT to write retry logic or error handling code more quickly. :slightly_smiling_face: That got me thinking if others here are combining AI and Shiphero API to solve these challenges.

Checked Shiphero API Documentation guide related to this and found it quite informative.:innocent:

I’d appreciate any advice on how to structure API calls, add retries, or maybe batch them properly. Real-world examples or code snippets would be super helpful for me and other new developers.:innocent:

Thank you !!:slightly_smiling_face:

Hi Kayoj,

Welcome to the Shiphero Commuinity!

We have recently doubled all Credit limits for Shiphero accounts. This should ease the issues around the rate limits you were experiencing. Apart from this using tactics like Pagination is highly reccomended when pulling large ammounts of data.

For information like product inventory, consider using the Inventory Snapshot call as for one low cost call you can retrieve all the inventory data for all warehouses.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Thank you
