ShipHero Integration for External Rate Shopping and Label Generation via Soapbox APIs

Hi ShipHero team,

We are exploring an integration for our client between their ShipHero instance and my company’s platform.

To clarify, the company where I work (Soapbox) is not looking to register as a carrier.

The proposed workflow is for Soapbox APIs to handle the rate shopping and label generation outside of ShipHero. ShipHero would send Soapbox either an order creation event or a label generation request, and Soapbox would shop rates, purchase the label, and return the label and tracking information back to ShipHero for our client’s fulfillment workflow.

We would like to confirm two things:

  1. Can we use any ShipHero webhook to listen for order creation events or label generation requests from our client’s ShipHero instance?

  2. Can Soapbox update ShipHero orders via API with the generated label, tracking number, carrier, service, and shipping cost?

Our goal is to keep or client’s operational workflow in ShipHero while using Soapbox APIs for rate shopping and label generation.

It has some limitations, but generally works as a bare bones solution.

(Also, I don’t think anyone from ShipHero monitors this board anymore.)
